Answer – a) Given, there is conjugate carbonyl in the ester reacted with NaCN in the alcohol solvent. The –CN ions acts as nucleophile and attack on the c with double bonds and conjugate with carbonyl C. and formed following as product.
b) In this one there is first cyclopentanone reacts with secondary amine and formed enamine. Then this enamine reacted with acid chloride and formed the product as follow –
